Brass band Christmas concert

Frodsham & Helsby Rotary presents A Christmas Silver Band Concert at Frodsham Community Centre on Sunday (10 December), starting at 7pm.

Proceeds from the annual Yuletide event, which features traditional as well as Christmas-themed band music from the award-winning Marsden Silver Prize Band, all go to Rotary charities.

The championship Brass Band, based in the village of Marsden in the Pennines just a couple of miles from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, has a proud heritage spanning more than 125 years.

The band’s highest accolades include 2nd place at the Scottish Open in 2013; appearances on Yorkshire Tea adverts and at the 2013 Test Cricket matches; and even providing the entertainment for a tea party aboard the world famous Orient Express. In 2014 the band celebrated its 125th anniversary with a CD recording of pieces that held a significant place in its history.

Sunday’s event at Frodsham Community Centre will encourage audience participation, with songsheets being provided at the door just in case you don’t know all the words!
Tickets, priced at £10, are available in advance from Ian Tickle Estate Agents at 108 Main Street, Frodsham; or by ringing 07788-757042. There will also be tickets available on the door on the night of the event but booking in advance is advised to avoid disappointment.
